Summary of Service

Service is the fundamental core of any organization and can be defined as a means of delivering value.  The opportunities for service have been plentiful and varied for me during my time at Texas A & M University-Commerce.  Presently, I serve as the Department Ombudsman with varying leadership responsibilities. Most recently I served as Doctoral Program Coordinator. Other department leadership responsibilities have included Master’s/Principal Certification Coordinator, library representative, and scholarship committee membership.

I currently serve as a curriculum advisor for 16 doctoral candidates. This responsibility requires oversight of course requirements, residency requirements and grading and delivery of doctoral written and oral comprehensive exams. I enjoy the ongoing engagement with our master’s and doctoral students and readily accept any cause for mentoring and dialogue.

Included in this section entitled “Service” is a sampling of service efforts at the University, College, and Department level.  Further, my service opportunities have extended well beyond university efforts.  I have also enjoyed many opportunities to provide service to the professional community at large, inclusive of National, Regional, Local, and Scholarly contributions.
